The 9 Steps to Defeat Porn Addiction
Below are the 9 steps to start taking back your life from the insidious lie we have all been told:
"It's okay everyone does it"
"Boys will be boys"
"It feels good, why stop?"
I go back to the true authority figure on the matter, Jesus Christ. I built this program from the teaching of the savior of the universe, and utilize several other teachings throughout the Old & New Testament to create a comprehensive program to save your life. All of this is free, because "a man can only serve 1 master." I choose to serve God, and not worship at the altar of money.
The 9 Steps (The DYM Method)
Below are the 9 steps that will save your life.

1. Admit that porn controls your life
This needs to be spoken out loud, you need to repent out in the world. Saying it in your head is just simply not enough.

4. Write down the things that trigger you
This should include any "soft-core" porn as well. Including but not limited to: Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, FB, Reddit, etc.

7. Track your progress towards getting better with a journal entry
I have created a template linked in the button above. Click that to see what your journal entry should look like.

2. Humble yourself before God and admit you cannot do it alone
God is like a river, if you swim against the current you are likely to drown. However, if you humble yourself and admit you cannot do this alone you begin to swim with the current.

5. Remove all the triggers (this is the hardest step)
Take this to the further extreme that you must. Remove power cables, delete accounts (not just apps), stop watching tv. Just do whatever it takes - see below for actionable steps

8. Continue to remain humble and stay vigilant, triggers will pop up everyday & everywhere
This is an excellent time to check out the next section below to learn what to do if you feel the urge or temptation.

3. Write down everything that is taken away from your life by allowing porn into it
The negatives of watching porn are almost too many to list. This list should be deeply personal, and will more than likely cause you to feel embarrassment, pain, and anger.

6. Pray for forgiveness & ask for strength
These are to be said OUT LOUD again. We live in a physical & spiritual world, it is far more humbling to pray for strength out loud, than it is to mutter it in your head.

9. Help someone else
If you are struggling, then others are likely to struggle. All of this information is free and easy to access, send this to whomever you think might need it.
What to do if the temptation is too great
1. Remove Yourself from the situation
Just leave. If its a movie, a friend's house, your own house, you must walk away.
2. Repeat this prayer
Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me. I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God. But I pray to you, Lord, in the time of your favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation. Rescue me from the mire, do not let me sink; deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep waters. Do not let the floodwaters engulf me or the depths swallow me up or the pit close its mouth over me. Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me. Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble. Come near, rescue me, and deliver me Lord. Amen

This is taken from Psalm 69
3. Write down this new trigger and remove this new, unknown, trigger.
We are repeating steps 4 and 5 here.
How to remove the triggers from your life
1. After writing down the triggers, systematically go through where you live and remove them
Phones, tablet, computers, TV's, magazines - IT DOES NOT MATTER
2. Utilize the screen time feature on your phone to restrict any website you use for porn
Delete all social media ACCOUNTS, not just the apps. You need to make it difficult on yourself, because in that moment of difficulty you will have time to think, and to pray
3. Actively use your phone less
The access to the internet is far too easy. Put it in a drawer, downgrade it, use a flip phone, scorched earth means scorched earth.
4. You will have more free time, go to the gym, spend it with family, or go for a walk.
Find new hobbies that improve your life, and pull you away from porn.
5. Be extreme, if your computer triggers you: hide the power cable
Unplug the internet, put your phone away, whatever you have to do we are going scorched earth.
6. Make sure your barriers continue to stay strong and reinforced
As your addiction loses its grip on you, continue to maintain and manage the triggers. Stay vigilant and trust in the Lord.
